Staining for MAL (red) picks out the cortex on the right, which is highly positive, and occasional MAL-positive cells in the medulla (left and below). Staining for CD79a (green) picks out thymic B cells which are located in the medulla. One asteroid-shaped B cell displays MAL immunoreactivity (arrowhead) giving a yellow signal.
