The lysine-specific histone demethylase 5 (KDM5) family is composed of 4 proteins: KDM5A, KDM5B, KDM5C, and KDM5D. Functional ___domain structures of KDM5 proteins show that all KDM5 proteins contain a common Jumonji-N (JmjN) ___domain (green), AT-rich interaction (ARID) ___domain (orange), plant homeodomain (PHD) 1 ___domain (red), Jumonji-C (JmjC) ___domain (blue), and zinc-finger (ZnF) ___domain (yellow). Differences between the four proteins arise from the presence of PHD2 and PHD3 domains. KDM5A and KDM5B have PHD2 and PHD3 domains, whereas KDM5C and KDM5D only have the PHD2 ___domain. The numbers indicate the ___location of each ___domain and the size of each protein in terms of amino acid residues.
