Plasma neurofilament light (NfL) levels are correlated with body mass index (BMI) in individuals with anorexia nervosa (AN), weight recovered from AN (AN-REC), and normal-weight healthy controls (CTRL). Overall BMI effect, β (±se) = −0.62 ± 0.087 and p = 6.9‧10−12. Note that the slope is significantly different in the AN group (−2.214) compared with AN-REC (−0.265 and p = 0.022) and CTRL (−0.190 and p = 0.018).
