Ferroptosis’s immunologic features are embodied in both leukocytes and non-leukocytic cells (Right). Ferroptotic leukocyte subsets lead to the loss of normal immune functions. Yet in non-leukocytic cells, ferroptosis results in the release of various Damage-Associated Molecular Patterns (DAMPs), thus causing diverse immune and inflammatory reactions.
