The vegetation activity here is showcased with the example of the maximum three-monthly normalized difference vegetation index (NDVImax3). Along the elevation, the multi-year averaged elevational gradient (EG) sign can be either (1) increasing vegetation activity (positive EGndvimax) or (2) decreasing vegetation activity (negative EGndvimax).
