The figure shows the results of SEC analysis of films treated with the intact or heat-inactivated GmSal and of the pristine material. Panel A features three molecular mass distribution curves that are overlapping almost completely. These curves were used to calculate the weight average and number average molar mass values presented in panel B. 100 µL of saliva was applied to the centre of a 5 mm × 5 mm film (i.e., approximately the same position each time) 15 times and the film was incubated for 90 min at 24 °C between each application.
