In the version of the article initially published, in the first paragraph, the units were incorrect in the sentence “Fire smoke includes fine particulate matter with a diameter of ≤2.5 μg m–3 (PM2.5)”. This sentence has now been amended to “Fire smoke includes fine particulate matter with a diameter of ≤2.5 μm (PM2.5)” in the HTML and PDF versions of the article.
