From: Initial Upper Palaeolithic material culture by 45,000 years ago at Shiyu in northern China

  1. Optical and radiocarbon ages presented as ‘unmodelled age ranges’ (BP), Bayesian age model estimates, modelled transitional, start and end boundary ages presented as ‘modelled ages ranges’ at 68.2% (1σ) and 95.4% (2σ) probabilities and ‘Mean±1σ’ obtained using the OxCal 4.4.4 platform. For Layer 2, the ‘Date’ command was used to find the best fit for the layer. All ages are given in thousands of years and rounded to the nearest 100 years.
