Extended Data Fig. 2

a) HiRISE IRB (IR-RED-BLU) and CaSSIS NPB (NIR-PAN-BLU) draped over HiRISE DTM ( ~ 1 m pixel−1), 2× exaggeration. Brown capping unit (edges approximately demarcated by red dashes) drapes the top and southern side of the mound, and must have been deposited after mound erosion. The impact crater cut off at the bottom of the image is ~100 m in diameter, and its ejecta is made of non-hydrated pyroxene-rich material. See supplementary mound information for more detail. b) CaSSIS NPB of two mounds at 23.75 W, 24.78 N with flat tops (bottom) and ridged tops showing the capping unit occurring on both. c) CaSSIS NPB of a mound at 27.43 W, 19.86 N with the capping unit draping over bright-toned material. d) CaSSIS NPB of a mound at 23.90 W, 27.76 N with a flat top and sloping sides dominated by bright-toned material covered in brown capping unit (Unit 3).
