The chemical compositions of carbonate precipitated from fluid and of calcite (a) and compositions of silicate and carbonatite melts (b) in this study. Carbonate precipitates and melts from previous experiments on hydrated carbonated gabbro12 and carbonated sediments26,27,50 are shown for comparison.
