Activity of the COApl and its outputs to the VMH and CEA enhance aggressive social behaviour. By contrast, the activity of the basal forebrain (BF) and ventral premammilary nucleus (PMv) enhance the rewarding properties of aggression, whereas the lateral habenula (LHb) and dorsal raphenucleus (DRN) decrease the rewarding properties of aggression.
