Effect of PEMF stimulation on body weight, blood glucose and serum bone turnover markers in db/db mice. The db/db mice showed significantly higher body weight (A) and blood glucose (B) than the WT group both before and after 12-week experiment, whereas 12-weeek PEMF exposure exhibited no apparent effect on body weight or blood glucose in db/db mice. The db/db mice also exhibited decrease in bone formation marker (C) osteocalcin (OCN) and increase in bone resorption marker (D) tartrate-resistant acid phosphatase 5b (TRACP5b). PEMF promoted serum OCN secretion, whereas PEMF displayed no observable effect on serum TRACP5b expression.
