Combing hgDNA on various patterns. High molecular weight human DNA was combed on micropatterned octenyl-PEG substrates to demonstrate the surface’s ability to adsorb and isolate long molecules and to explore the significance of pattern design parameters in combing long molecules. Human DNA combed on two patterns are shown here: (A) 10–40 and (B) 40–170. As in Fig. 3, molecules were seen to absorb to the octenyl sections in an end-selective fashion; (C) An example image of human DNA >2 Mbp long combed onto a 10–40.
