No significant change of HIF-1α expression in macrophages in CLS. (A) HIF-1α staining in SAT and VAT. HIF-1α can be detected in both cytoplasm and nucleus (red arrows). HIF-1α stained in both cytoplasm and nucleus of macrophages in WT mice (a,b). In ERβ−/− mice, HIF-1α also stained in both cytoplasm and nucleus of macrophages (c,d). Macrophages outside CLS were not hypoxic in WT mice (black arrows in insert pictures in b).
