Control analyses of the participants’ responses for congruency effects. On the left: Description of congruent and incongruent trials. In congruent trials, the auditory target and visual distractor were both ascending or descending, independently of the slope. In incongruent trials, one was ascending and the other one descending. On the right: Accuracy (percentage of correct recognition) and response times obtained by the participants involved in the experimental group in the crossmodal interference task as a function of Session (pre-training, post-training) and Congruency (congruent, incongruent, none) between the orientation of the auditory target and that of the visual distractor. None refers to the unimodal condition.
