wAflu1 cells have smaller lipid droplets lipid droplets than wAflu1.tet. Cells were stained with Nile Red and DAPI and observed under a laser scanning confocal microscope (A). wAflu1 cells show smaller lipid droplet (LD) average diameter and higher relative frequency of smaller LD, while wAflu1.tet has higher relative frequency of larger LD (B). Maximum diameters of lipid droplets (LD) were determined from 3 independent experiments. Results were obtained from 208 to 301 LDs per group. (****) p < 0.0001 by Student’s t-test. Scale Bar: 20 µm.
