BuP exposure disrupted thyroid hormone levels and caused hypothyroidism in rats. (A–D) Serum levels of total triiodothyronine (TT3), total thyroxine (TT4), free T3 (FT3), and free T4 (FT4) were all decreased in the BuP-exposed rats compared with the control rats. (E) Serum thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH) levels were increased in BuP-exposed rats compared with control rats. (F, G) The levels of autoimmune thyroid antibodies, including thyroglobulin antibody (Tg-Ab) and thyroid peroxidase antibody (TPO-Ab), were increased in the BuP-exposed rats compared with the control rats. n = 8, data are expressed as mean ± SD.
