8老师你好。首先感谢你多年来的帮助 我妹和孩子已经通过了。我妹夫是党员 我们准备了中英对照的解释信（签证官留下了），也准备了中英对照的关于党员的问题和回答。面试时签证官还是要求补材料 需要我妹夫提供终止中国共产党员身份的证明。请问这是退党证明吗？

-Yes. Probably he addressed that he has quitted the Party in his statement, so the Visa Office asked him to provide the proof.

这种证明很难开。我妹夫的单位已经倒闭20多年了 没有啥组织活动。开不了退党证明 怎么能让签证官相信 他是党员身份就挂个名?签证官口头上说 需要证明长期没有参加活动，书面上钩的是要提供终止党员身份证明。退党很难，只能证明多年没有参与活动。如果签证官不认可这个证明 还有其他方式可以试一试吗？

-He may try to get a letter from his Party Branch Secretary (or another his Party group member if the he cannot get it from the Secretary) addressing that he did not participate in the Party activities and not pay the Party membership fee since xxxx year (e.g., 2019, etc.), so he was considered quitting the Party since that year  based on the Party Regulations。 Please note that "since xxxx year" should be the same as that in his statement (be consistent).

是不是永远没有可能来了？

-Not really. If he cannot get the immigrant visa this time, he still can apply for inadmissibility waiver.
