a–e The red symbols with dotted lines refer to the measured second harmonic (2ω) EA signals (transmission mode) at different loading ratios (1 wt%, 10 wt%, 40 wt%, 70 wt% and 100 wt%) of Y6 in PVK polymer. The black and blue solid lines denote the first and second derivatives of device absorbance, respectively. The first excited state (S1 state) is denoted by Region I, where the gray symbols and solid lines at low energy indicate the uncertainty region where absorbance has low signal-to-noise ratio. The dispersed phase (non-interacting molecules) of Y6 molecules is defined by Region II, which is shaded in yellow. Region III represents the transport band gap (Eg) of Y6, which is approximately 2 eV. The applied electric field is around 105 V/cm.
