Principal coordinate analyses of Bray-Curtis beta-diversity for genera based on V1-V3 (bacteria), V4 (archaea and bacteria), and V3-V5 (archaea) amplicon data. Samples are colored based on metadata. The fraction of variance in the microbial community explained by each variable in isolation was determined by PERMANOVA (Adonis R2-values). Exact p-values less than 0.001 could not be confidently determined due to the chosen number of permutations.
