a Cellular localization of GFP tagged cytochrome bc1 subunits QcrA (Rieske protein), QcrB and QcrC, cytochrome-c oxidase subunits CtaC and CtaD, and cytochrome c550 in stationary phase cells incubated with 100 μM valinomycin for 1, 2 and 4 h. The experiment was repeated three times with similar results. b Same as a except that the cells were sampled from the exponential phase and treated with 100 μM valinomycin for only 10 to 30 min.
