  1. We consider the date range MJD 59,856.41–59,942.43 (from the first flare detection to the last flare detection). Nexp is the number of exposures brighter than the given magnitude threshold, Texp is the total exposure time, Ton is the total time with a flare detected and the bounds are 97.5% confidence intervals (see Methods section ‘Flare observational characteristics’) on the duty cycle Ton/Texp.
