From: PTEN inhibitor bpV(HOpic) confers protection against ionizing radiation

bpV(HOpic) confers protection against the lethal effect of radiation in vivo. (A) Effect of bpV(HOpic) on the induction of AKT signaling in vivo. Indicated tissues [Peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs); Gastro-Intestinal (GI); Bone Marrow; and Spleen] were harvested 4 h post 1 mg/Kg body weight bpV(HOpic) administration (n = 3 per group), intraperitoneally and 10% tissue homogenate was lysed and subjected to immunoblotting for pAKT and AKT levels. Lane C is a sample from control animal; Lanes S1–S3 are samples from animals 1–3. (B) Effect of bpV(HOpic) pretreatment (1 mg/Kg body weight; IP) on the survival of whole-body irradiated C57BL/6 mice. Statistical significance was measured using log-rank test. n = 12 per group, ***p < 0.001.
