Stable and unstable equilibria plotted against predation intensity \((F=3, K=400)\). If the initial population size is above (below) the unstable equilibrium, the population approaches the stable equilibrium (goes extinct). If the predation intensity is beyond a critical value (\(c>390\)), the equilibria cease to exist, and the population will always become extinct.
