The colored lines represent one model each, the grey-black lines represent different observational datasets, labeled on the outer-right panels. The lines connect binned medians (10 bins along the x-axis with equal amount of points per bin) for each climate region. The grey dashed line shows the 1:1 line, indicating the water limit assuming all water is supplied by precipitation. Note that the graphs do not show the full range for some curves to better illustrate the model differences.
