Guidelines For Preparing A Synopsis
The purpose of the synopsis is to outline the aims and rationale of the piece. It should provide a structured overview of the key points, along with a brief description of each, including the evidence or arguments it will draw upon. More emphasis should be placed on these aspects rather than on explaining the broader issues that motivate the piece, as our focus is on assessing and providing feedback on the content and argumentation, rather than justifying the need for the discussion.
To prepare the synopsis:
* The synopsis should start with a short paragraph (around 200 words) setting out the rationale for the article as a whole.
* After this initial paragraph, please list the main areas to be covered providing provisional headings and a few sentences for each section explaining the main points, arguments, and evidence backing the points. We encourage you to include an estimated length for each section.
* Please provide a provisional list of display items (figures, tables and boxes) with a description of the message they should convey. We look for figures that illustrate ideas or types of insight rather than presenting specific research results. We discourage the reproduction of figures from publications.
* Please supply a sample of key references (no more than 15) to illustrate the timeliness of the article and the topics touched upon.
* Please provide the list of authors.
