Strategic Planning in Timor Leste commenced

The UNE-TL workshop for designing the National Strategic Plan started on Monday, 29th of August, with the opening ceremony held at the Peony Hotel in Dili.
Amongst the 45 participants are the key Scout Leaders from UNE-TL, young Scouts and group leaders from various municipalities. Resource persons from Scouts Australia Mr. Chris Bates and Peter Blatch, Asia-Pacific Support Center Mr. S. Prassanna Shrivastava are supporting the drafting of the National Strategic plan. Leaders from UNE-TL are part of the workshop team facilitators.
The opening ceremony was officially opened by the National Director of Secretary of State for Youth and Sports, representing HE Secretary of State accompanied by UNE-TL President Ms Idelta Rodrigues. Among the attendees of the opening ceremony was the representative of Partner for Human Development (PHD) and the acting Ambassador of Australia Ms Joannah Leahy who also addressed in her remarks the importance of contributing to the youth activities and non-formal education for youth.
The workshop will last for four days and participants are expected to actively participate in the discussions and identify key areas where UNE-TL would play a role in contributing to the state building processes. Few key agendas are finding the key strength and weakness, determining the key strategic priorities areas and formulating the Vision for the UNE-TL.
Day one was completed with the envisioning session where participants were given a chance to list down what would UNE-TL be likely in future given the fact of current state of the organization situational analysis.
