Yang et al. utilize a model-inference system and multiple datasets to reconstruct the underlying SARS-CoV-2 transmission dynamics and validate the estimates using wastewater viral load data. This study estimates key epidemiological variables including infection rate and transmissibility for each variant and infection-fatality risk in New York City during March 2020–August 2023.
