Electron–phonon coupling is a key physical process in condensed matter systems that plays a crucial role in phenomena such as superconductivity. Here, the authors characterize the role of electron–phonon coupling in the topological superconductor candidate 2M-WS2, indicating a robust and mode-selective coupling that informs the nature of its relatively high superconducting transition temperature.
