New measures of anisotropy of cryo-EM maps

This paper proposes two new anisotropy metrics—the Fourier shell occupancy and the Bingham test—that can be used to understand the quality of cryogenic electron microscopy maps.

Measuring local-directional resolution and local anisotropy in cryo-EM maps

It is important to analyse the local resolution of cryo-EM maps. Here the authors present MonoDir, a fully automatic and parameter free method for the directional local resolution analysis of cryo-EM maps that requires only the final map as input and they also propose indicators for assessing map quality.

REliable PIcking by Consensus (REPIC): a consensus methodology for harnessing multiple cryo-EM particle pickers

Cryo-EM particle picking is difficult due to noise and no ground truth. Here, a computational method for finding consensus particles from different picking algorithms is presented. This method identifies high-quality particles with minimal user input.
