New diluted ferromagnetic semiconductor with Curie temperature up to 180 K and isostructural to the ‘122’ iron-based superconductors

Diluted magnetic semiconductors are promising spintronic materials, however the simultaneous doping of charge and magnetic moment has prevented synthesis of bulk samples. This work reports the synthesis of a bulk magnetic semiconductor (Ba_1−xK_x)(Zn_1−yMn_y)₂As₂with Curie temperatures up to 180 K.

Direct evidence for a pressure-induced nodal superconducting gap in the Ba_0.65Rb_0.35Fe₂As₂ superconductor

Evidence suggests that the superconducting gap structures of Fe-based high temperature superconductors are highly sensitive to material parameters. Here, the authors use muon spin rotation to evidence the appearance of superconducting nodes in optimally-doped Ba_0.65Rb_0.35Fe₂As₂under hydrostatic pressure.

Neoadjuvant nivolumab with or without relatlimab in resectable non-small-cell lung cancer: a randomized phase 2 trial

In an open-label phase 2 trial, patients with non-small-cell lung cancer received neoadjuvant anti-PD-1 with or without anti-LAG-3, showing that curative intent surgery after combined blockade of PD-1 and LAG-3 is feasible, and leads to preliminary clinical responses.

ASTER—another flower in the diagnostic field of lung cancer?

Mediastinal staging of patients with lung cancer is used to avoid futile thoracotomies. Endoscopic, esophageal and bronchial ultrasound procedures are methods to identify involved lymph nodes. The ASTER study indicates that the sensitivity of these new techniques is high, reducing the number of futile thoracotomies and improving outcomes when combined with mediastinoscopy.

The end of the Triassic period was marked by a mass extinction. Biomarkers in black shales that formed at the time suggest that the repeated poisoning of shallow seas by hydrogen sulphide delayed the early Jurassic recovery.
