High-quality-factor viscoelastic nanomechanical resonators from moiré superlattices

The authors demonstrate that the response of the flexural vibrations of twisted bilayer graphene can be hysteretic depending on the angle between the lattices of the layers, finding that the quality factors of the vibrations are enhanced compared to untwisted bilayers.

Quantum interference between dark-excitons and zone-edged acoustic phonons in few-layer WS₂

Observation of phonon Stark effect

The authors report experimental evidence of phonon Stark effect in 2H-MoS₂ bilayers. A Stark phonon appears as the interlayer excitons are tuned to resonate with the LA phonon emission line, and shows a linear energy shift upon application of an out-of-plane electric field.

Cross-dimensional electron-phonon coupling in van der Waals heterostructures

The strength of electron-phonon coupling can be directly probed by Raman spectroscopy.
