A Catalogue of Structural Variation across Ancestrally Diverse Asian Genomes

Structural variations (SV) contribute to inter-individual variability. Here, the authors describe a first-generation multi-ancestry Asian SV catalogue containing 73,035 SVs from 8392 Singaporeans to provide insights into Asian SV diversity.

Jianjun Liu, Wei-Hua Jia, Adeline Seow, Dongxin Lin and colleagues report a genome-wide association study of B cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma in individuals of Chinese ancestry. They identify a new susceptibility locus on chromosome 3q27 in the intergenic region between BCL6 (B cell lymphoma protein 6) and LPP (lipoma preferred partner).

Age-related macular degeneration (AMD) is a major cause of blindness worldwide. Here, the authors carry out a two-stage genome-wide association study for AMD and identify three new AMD risk loci, highlighting the shared and distinct genetic basis of the disease in East Asians and Europeans.
