Neoadjuvant chemoradiation with or without PD-1 blockade in locally advanced rectal cancer: a randomized phase 2 trial

In a multicenter, open-label, randomized phase 2 trial, neoadjuvant chemoradiation with PD-1 blockade elicited a pathological complete response rate superior to that with neoadjuvant chemoradiation alone in patients with locally advanced rectal cancer.

Real-time observation of the buildup of polaron in α-FAPbI₃

The methyltransferase METTL3 negatively regulates nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) progression

Mechanisms that underlie the progression of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease to the more severe non-alcoholic steatohepatitis are incompletely understood. Here the authors show that METTL3, a RNA methyltransferase that catalyzes mRNA m6 modifications, negatively regulates NASH progression via inhibiting the transcription of Cd36 and Ccl2.

O-GlcNAcylation of SIRT1 enhances its deacetylase activity and promotes cytoprotection under stress

SIRT1 is a stress sensor whose deacetylase activity is increased during cellular stress, but the molecular mechanism is unclear. Here, the authors show that O-GlcNAcylation of SIRT1 is elevated upon different stress stimuli and increases SIRT1 deacetylase activity, protecting cells from stress-induced apoptosis.
