Transcriptional super-enhancers control cancer stemness and metastasis genes in squamous cell carcinoma

Little is known on the transcriptional mechanisms that control cancer stem cell (CSC) self-renewal and stemness. Here the authors show superenhancers (SEs) play a role in the transcription of cancer stemness genes as well as prometastatic genes, thereby controlling their tumorigenic potential; disrupting SEs inhibited CSC self-renewal and eliminated CSCs.

The Zhurong rover identified polygonal terrain at a depth of 35 m under Utopia Planitia on Mars. This finding suggests that the mid-latitudinal region experienced a cold and wet environment near the freezing point of water around the Hesperian–Amazonian transition, possibly induced by Mars’s high obliquity.

Hadal trenches are the deepest oceanic ecosystems, with water depth over 6000 m, and are among the least explored habitats on Earth. Ground magnetic survey on Mars from the Zhurong rover

The Zhurong rover measured in situ the Martian magnetic field vector at 16 sites. An average horizontal intensity of 11.2 ± 10.9 nT is recorded, substantially lower than the ~80 nT measured from orbit. Demagnetization over the entire Utopia Basin or at small scales around the Zhurong site might explain this difference.

Reversible strains are widely used in high-technology systems, with piezoelectrics showing fast response but low strain.
