Forest plots display the multivariable-adjusted HRs with 95% CIs for incident CVD associated with older versus younger age groups in the overall, low-risk (MCs123) and high-risk (MCs45) participants in JD_2010 and CM_2010. Cox proportional hazards regression models were adjusted for MCs (not for MCs-stratified models), sex, educational attainment, smoking status, alcohol drinking status, and physical activity. The error bars represent the two-sided 95% CIs determined by multivariable analysis in Cox regression.
