About the Editors
Chief Editor: Olga Bubnova, PhD, Springer Nature, Japan
Olga received her master's degree in mechanical engineering in 2005 from Samara State Aerospace University in Russia. After graduation, she spent three years working as a system engineer in the electronics and automotive industries. In 2008, she began her studies on organic thermoelectrics at Linköping University in Sweden, where she went on to obtain her PhD. Later she worked at the University of Cambridge as a postdoctoral researcher, focusing on organic photovoltaics. Olga joined Nature Research in October 2015 and worked at Nature Nanotechnology first as Associate then as Senior Editor. She became Chief Editor at Nature Reviews Electrical Engineering in 2023 and is currently based in London.
Associate Editor: Silvia Conti, PhD, Springer Nature, Germany
Silvia received her M.Sc. in Industrial Chemistry in 2013 from the University of Bologna, Italy. In 2017, she obtained her PhD in bioengineering and robotics from the University of Cagliari (Italy), where she focused on organic printable bio/chemo sensors. Later she moved to Spain as a postdoctoral researcher at Institute of Microelectronics of Barcelona, and back to Italy at the University of Pisa and at the Italian Institute of Technology in Genova. Her research activity was focused on solution-processed organic and two-dimensional electronic devices for sensing applications. Silvia joined Nature Reviews Electrical Engineering in July 2023 as an Associate Editor. Silvia primarily covers control systems and signal processing areas and is currently based in the Berlin office.
Associate Editor: Miranda Vinay, PhD, Springer Nature, Germany
Miranda earned her PhD in Physical Chemistry in 2022 from the University of California, Riverside. Her research focused on devices made from high-temperature superconductors and prototypical gas sensors made from carbon nanotubes. Miranda joined editorial at Communications Engineering in February 2022, and spent 2023 on the physics team at Nature itself. She joined Nature Reviews Electrical Engineering in February 2025 in the remit of photonic devices, optics, and telecommunications. She is based in the Berlin office.
The Reviews Cross-Journal Editorial Team works across the Nature Reviews portfolio, as the need arises, handling content in the life, clinical, physical and social sciences.
