Electrically powered solitons in out-of-equilibrium nematics face challenges due to their random generation and uncontrollable motion. The authors present a reconfigurable optoelectronic approach using multi-strategy digital light projection, which allows precise control over the soliton’s entire lifecycle, enabling tailored generation, velocity modulation, directional transformation, and on demand trajectory.
