Dual asparagine-depriving nanoparticles against solid tumors

Depletion of circulatory asparagine (Asn) by L-asparaginase (ASNase) has been used for clinical treatment of leukemia. Here this group develops core-shell structured cascade-responsive nanoparticles for sequential modulation of exogenous Asn supply and endogenous Asn production, thereby achieving the amino acid depletion therapy against solid tumors.

Finely tailoring the local ensembles in heterostructured high entropy alloy catalysts through pulsed annealing

Local structure control is challenging in high entropy alloy (HEA) catalysts. Here, the authors report finely tailoring the local clustering in HEA catalysts through rational composition design and sequential pulse annealing, achieving enhanced activity and stability for ethanol electrooxidation.

Supervised multi-frame dual-channel denoising enables long-term single-molecule FRET under extremely low photon budget

Single-molecule techniques can shed light on biochemical dynamics with high precision, but they require a significant photon number per frame and are hampered by the limited number of photons emitted by each fluorophore before photobleaching. Here, the authors introduce MUFFLE, a deep-learning denoising tool that enables single-molecule FRET with up to 10-fold reduction in photon requirement per frame.
